Alliance

The members of the Orange County Medical Society Alliance are a hard working and dedicated group of people. Even though 80% of Physician's spouses work outside their homes, many own businesses and are professionals in their own right, they enjoy taking time out of their busy schedules to join in the many worthwhile community service projects offered by the Alliance.

The Orange County Medical Society Alliance is a branch of the American Medical Association Alliance and the Florida Medical Society Alliance which are often referred to as the volunteer arms of the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association. Besides the many community service projects the Alliance is also very involved in legislative issues that effect our spouses patients or their practices. Members feel being involved in the Alliance is one way to show support to our Physician spouses.

Our Alliance families are a spectrum of ages, from young families starting out to spouses of retired Physicians. Living with a Physician can be demanding. It can be especially hard on the spouse that has a demanding career of their own. The Alliance can offer great support for the men and women married to Physicians, because no one knows what it is like to be married to a Physician except another Physician's spouse.
